# What a no-KYC portfolio tracker actually means (and what it doesn’t)

FolioSpan can track a crypto wallet from a **public address**. It does not ask for a seed phrase. KYC is not required to **scan** a wallet.

That is not “anonymous forever.” On-chain balances are already public. If the user signs in, they have an account for optional cloud sync and store purchases.

FolioSpan is a local-first portfolio **record**. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not tax software, and not financial advice. It does not execute trades.
